The Landmark London describes itself as a five-star oasis of luxury and calm. Its rooms and public areas are beautifully finished and flooded with natural light from the huge windows.
However, there are a few areas of the hotel that do not have access to the outside and have no windows – the hotel wanted to make these areas as compelling as the rest of the public rooms. To achieve this, the designers decided to use LED lighting to backlight glass ‘windows’ and create the intensity and feel of natural daylight.
Working with the designers, Bright Green Technology developed a lighting scheme using Bright Green Grid. This product choice ensured that the backlit glass was evenly lit, even for very shallow light boxes. It was also ideal for lighting a circle – which is difficult with other lighting forms.
To add to the realism , Bright Green Grid was specified in dynamic, tuneable white. Connected to a lighting control system, this was setup to slowly shift from cool to warm white through the day to give a sunrise to sunset feel to the room.
