Lighting design projects don’t come any bigger than our award-winning design work for the IMAX advertising site in central London. Our experience was invaluable as we developed an entirely new lighting design from scratch and delivered it to our client, Ocean Outdoor. We used the full range of our skills – software lighting renders, product development, prototyping, control programming and final commissioning.
Parameters such as colour temperature, CRI and R9 really matter when designing the right lighting for projects. For example, our project development work for Heathrow included testing of a range of colour temperatures to ensure that the iconic cornflower yellow wayfinding signs looked just right. We can advise on this and make sure that lighting selection is appropriate and effective.
Ensuring that lighting is diffuse is more complex than many people assume. LED spacing, depth, location, ambient light and diffuser material all need to be considered in the design. We are experts, with years of experience in applications such as backlit onyx, architectural features and illuminated stretch ceilings. We work with many lighting designers to support the development of large-scale architectural projects.
Lighting projects are ever more complex. With the increasing introduction of dynamic white and RGB systems expertise and experience is more important than ever. Our key skill is to understand these projects from end to end and bring together hardware and software design under our roof. A typical project involves considerable CAD software development before the first physical trials, followed by complex on-site commissioning.
