In October 2019, SSH, a Dubai-based company, undertook the full restoration of Kuwait’s Al Salam Palace. This heritage building has been transformed into a museum. Featuring 26 exhibition galleries offering visitors an immersive experience.
We were privileged to be specified by Nich Smith Lighting Design who sought to replicate, as authentically as possible, the original lighting effects within each space. A range of our backlighting products was selected. All set at 3000k colour temperature for even illumination throughout. From complex ceilings, that imitated a raft and required a slatted daylight effect, to backlighting display graphics and rare artefacts in bespoke display cabinets.
Our inhouse engineers assembled the panels prior to shipment allowing for testing and ease of install. The LED lighting system combined DMX control systems and DALI drivers from our sister company Bright Green Connect. Ensuring sites could be localised and controlled independently.
The care and craftmanship invested in this project are truly remarkable and pay true homage to the 300-year history of this nation.
