InMotion launch with LED Lighting systems across UK and International airports

WHSmith owned brand, InMotion is the leading airport technology retailer.  We were approached to assist with the brand’s expansion and launch into the UK and European markets. The first site was Manchester airport with plans to roll out across all major UK airports, including London Heathrow T2 & T5, as well as several international sites.

Our brief was to design and supply custom plug and play lighting kits for use throughout the stores. There are lightboxes, wall bay lighting, product displays and bespoke ceiling luminaires as well as premium brand displays enhanced with controllable RGBW halo features.  We were tasked with attracting the attention of passing shoppers and provide the ability to highlight specific areas in-store.

Our Approach

In collaboration with the client, our engineers worked on the kit designs from concept through to the creation of CAD drawings and pre-production prototype kits. PRO Range LED linear was specified due to its high CRI>95 and R9 >90 values and strict bin control.  This ensured every display looked identical across all sites, providing the product and spaces with stunning light quality.

Our production team went on to manufacture over 1,000 plug and play kits for the installation.  PRO Range LED tape, Bright Green Grid and Bright Green Matrix were all part of the product portfolio.  Bright Green Connect PXS/ECS LED drivers and RGBW controls powered and controlled the lighting.

The team has now successfully installed our LED lighting within every InMotion store across all UK airports and major European transport hubs with the project still ongoing.
