The 2nd post of our 20 year retrospective takes us to 2003. We introduced LED light boxes to replace tube-based boxes with a LED Light sheet system. The new product was sleek, slim and cool to the touch as well as being highly energy efficient.
One of the first installs was for the Ian Fleming exhibition at the Imperial War Museum. This was a major retrospective that investigated the inspirations behind the James Bond character. Many artefacts from the authors life were brought together. The Caribbean writing desk, espionage paraphernalia, views of Alpine mountains – that were the essence of James Bond. This particular image is a backlit view of the ocean from Flemings desk with a cut-out screen showing a palm tree waving in the breeze!
This project was fantastic to be involved in and it was a special treat to get behind the scenes of such a fascinating collection of artefacts.
